Estate Au Grand Champ, between the airport and the internationals organizations in Geneva.

Summary :

Renovation and restoration of buildings, sanitation of equipment and extension of a dependency at the Au Grand Champ estate, in Grand – Saconnex Municipality in Geneva.

The Mansion is currently the residence of the Indian Ambassador to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.

Developments :

The rural is made up of a farm in activity with its barns and ancillary buildings.

The dependency of the adjoining mansion is the historic site farm, first registered in 1848. This dependency has been subject of two previous extensions. These two undated events determine the current volume of this actuel building.

The Mansion as well as the current barns seems to have been edified simultaneously. The house adjoining the barns is registered since 1925.

The works involved since 1996 are mainly two major interior and exterior renovations in 1998 and 2018 for the Mansion.

The very decrepited dependence has been the subject of a major renovation in 2018, in particular the stone foundations by underpinning. The half-timbered structure of the historic extension has been cleaned up. Replacement of existing roofs as well as the addition of five missing dormer windows according to the positioning of the studs. Restoration of the two existing dormers-gables.

The equipment on the farm site and the houses has been cleaned up and updated to standards since 1996.

The Mansion interior elements have been saved or restored, the previous interventions of no patrimonial interest have been replaced by contemporary elements, such as the kitchen and the bathrooms.

A third extension of the dependency is underway by the addition of a new building.
